The Portland Tableau User Group cordially invites you to join on July 6th from 1-2pm Pacific to understand more about Oregon’s Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community Based Epidemics, which was developed by Larissa Williams.

Larissa manages Oregon’s Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-Based Epidemics (ESSENCE) which allows epidemiologists across the state and country to monitor what is happening in Oregon emergency departments. Larissa recently joined the ESSENCE team after two years of improving the quality of electronic laboratory data submitted to the state for monitoring disease transmission and outbreaks. Larissa has been supporting Tableau reporting since 2021 and has led efforts to support her colleague’s Tableau ambitions. Larissa is currently learning to integrate programs such as R with Tableau for increased analytic capability. Outside of Tableau and Public Health, Larissa loves to learn about the world, prepare elaborate cuisine, and care for plants.
